Margie Hooper, PhD (Art history and theory), Master of Design, Grad Dip Visual Arts, BA (Fine art).
Margie has worked as a visual artist, graphic designer, cartographer, and teacher, specialising in life drawing and painting and continues to give guest lectures and short-term classes to students and the broader community.
As a practising artist, Margie exhibits frequently, developing themes around historical figures and her lived environment. However, her passion is drawing in all its forms and was the subject of her doctoral thesis. She is one of four artists participating in the annual Drawing Marathon, instigated and managed by the South Coast Regional Arts Centre during SALA, which encourages the Fleurieu community, and children in particular, to draw.
